A soldier who went hiking over the Easter long weekend had a close call after he fell down a precipice.
Loop News was told that police and fire officers worked together to rescue the soldier, who fell down a precipice on Friday morning while hiking with friends.
The incident reportedly took place in the vicinity of Mt Hololo in Cascade.
Officials were told that around 9am, during the hike, the soldier slipped off the side of the trail and fell an estimated 100 feet down.
The hikers called the fire service and the police who went to the scene and pulled the man from the precipice.
First responders told reporters that the man suffered a broken arm, cuts, and bruises from the fall.
He was taken to a health facility where he was treated, however, thankfully he did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
